So Is It Normal To Not Feel Pregnant Some Days?

Not feeling pregnant some days is completely normal as you will get days where all your pregnancy symptoms disappear – no more sickness, no more aches for example. But it might not be that these symptoms have disappeared but that you have now learned to cope with them better.

I Don’t Feel Pregnant, Should I Be Worried?

Our bodies are amazing and can grow an entire baby with little trouble for the most part. Although this may not be the case for every person as each pregnancy is different. Some women have absolutely no morning sickness and breeze through pregnancy. Then there are those women who seem to have sickness from the minute their baby is conceived until the day it is born.

Is it normal to suddenly not feel pregnant – The removal of pregnancy symptoms can often make you feel that you are no longer pregnant or that there is definitely something wrong and this is normally not the case. However, there are times when a sudden change in your pregnancy symptoms could mean that there is a need for you to get checked out by a professional.

Your Baby is Moving Less

Depending on how far along you are in your pregnancy will determine how much of your baby’s movement you are aware of. But if you suddenly notice a change in their movement or activity, you really should be getting in touch with your healthcare provider.

Sudden Loss Of All Symptoms

As we have said having a few days where you don’t feel like you want to vomit whenever you smell something does not mean that there is anything to worry about. But if you all of a sudden have no symptoms at all and we mean no symptoms when you had been experiencing multiple ones. This can sometimes be a sign of a miscarriage.

Vaginal Bleeding

Once you get that BFP any vaginal bleeding no matter how small should be investigated immediately. While it does not necessarily mean that you are having a miscarriage or that there is something wrong with your pregnancy it should still be looked into further.

Some women will bleed intermittently all the way through their pregnancy and still go on to have a healthy baby and normal delivery – I am one of these women. During my first pregnancy I experienced intermittent bleeding all the way through and yet there was no reason for it and I went on to have a healthy baby girl.

Painful Stomach Cramps

Many women who experience painful stomach cramps go on to have a miscarriage. If you are having cramping pain that is worse than a normal period or that radiates from your back to your pelvis this needs to be checked out with your healthcare provider.

Is It Normal To Not Feel Pregnant In The Second Trimester

By the time you reach your second trimester many of those more common pregnancy symptoms subside and give you a well earned break that can make you believe why I don’t feel pregnant some days. This may make you fear that there is something wrong as you don’t feel pregnant anymore – but this is completely normal. It also doesn’t mean that your pregnancy is more or less normal than anyone else’s.

The Reasons Behind Not Feeling Pregnant Some Days

There are many reasons why you may not be feeling pregnant and these are normal and nothing to worry about.

  • Coping With HCG Rises Well

HCG or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin is the hormone that registers on a pregnancy test to confirm a positive test result. It is also responsible for controlling all those hormonal changes that your body goes through. It can cause changes in mood, energy, food cravings, and even tiredness.

But there are some women whose body is just built in such a way that they can cope better with the rising hormone levels and changes – this means that they are not affected by the hormone changes in their own body. Their body just adjusts and regulates itself through the rising HCG levels and this can affect things like morning sickness, nausea, food cravings, tiredness, and mood swings.

  • No Morning Sickness

If you are surrounded by women who have had terrible morning sickness you may feel a little odd if all you have is slight nausea or even worse nothing at all. But the fact is that some people’s bodies adjust to the changes of pregnancy better than others.

I was very fortunate and didn’t suffer from morning sickness during my first pregnancy. I was one of those women that breezed through the sickness stage with ease. But my second one was a different story and it continued all the way through. But I had good days and bad days and as it wasn’t continuous I didn’t feel so drained.

  • Not Gaining Weight Quickly

Weight gain while pregnant is one of those weird side effects that you either experience or don’t. Some women seem to put on weight from the minute they find out they are pregnant while others are still fitting in their tiny jeans when they are 6 months pregnant.

There are many factors that contribute to how much and where you put weight on while pregnant from your prepregnancy weight, your build, your height, and your exercise and eating habits. The inability to put weight on can make some women feel like they are not pregnant. However, as one of those women who easily put weight on in all my pregnancies, and I don’t mean a couple of pounds I mean a few stone, I am a little envious of them!

  • Gets A Huge Energy Boost

That first trimester is a tough one for pregnant women – your body is working overtime creating your little one but yet you look no different to the outside world. You have never felt so tired in all your life and fall asleep at the drop of a hat. But some pregnant women, get the complete opposite and have this huge boost of energy.

They are able to exercise as they did before, have a great social life minus the alcohol, of course, cook, clean, and be as happy as they always were. This may make them fear for the health of their fetus and even doubt if they are pregnant. But in reality, they are just extremely fortunate and should enjoy every minute of their new found energy!

  • No Strange Food Cravings

Everyone knows that pregnant women get some weird and wonderful food cravings, sending their partners in search of pickled gherkins in the small hours. But not all women get these weird cravings.

Some women just want to eat normal foods in normal amounts and this can make them question is it normal to not feel pregnant some days. It can even make them consider if they are really pregnant and if so is their baby healthy. Well, the answer is yes, your baby is most likely healthy and this is nothing to worry about.

The Unicorn Among Us

These are the women that go through their pregnancy as if they weren’t pregnant at all. They don’t suffer from bloating, morning sickness, acne breakouts, tiredness, or any other common pregnancy symptoms. These women truly are the unicorns among us and if you are one of these women don’t feel bad, it is completely normal to question is it normal to not feel pregnant some days.

Sometimes things just go as planned and in fact exceed our expectations and we should just sit back and enjoy it instead of worrying!

Wrapping Up

Is it normal to not feel pregnant some days well as you can see from what we have covered above it is extremely normal and many pregnant women feel like this. But it doesn’t mean that you should be worried or concerned. It may be that you are handling your pregnancy symptoms better than you were or that you are one of the lucky ones and the sickness and aches have subsided for a little while.
